Matt Cutt’s has answered some tough questions before, but got right to the point on this one.
A viewer asked Matt if using stock images (or other people’s images) will hurt your rankings in Google.
Matt responded and basically said: NO. Although he did mention that they might possibly want to consider using it as a signal in the future.
Not really sure how that would work, or even if that would be fair. Images are shared all of the time, and websites should not ever be penalized on wanting to share an image.
