Calm down people, Google Places is still here. It is not gone. Still here. What happend was an integration. Last week when I heard about this I thought “Oh, Places is gone, better do some research.” So I did. First thing I did was type in Google Places into Google, and I found this:
Doesn’t appear gone to me. Still coming up in the search engines, and it is still called Google Places. So I clicked on the link, saw the same familiar login page, logged in, and to my (non) surprise, I see the same old dashboard that I’ve always seen:
So what is all the big fuss about? Google + for business and Google Places simply integrated its features, that is all. It is actually quite irrelevant. This is not an algorithm update. So what is important now?
Well, you might want to have a Google+ for business page. You might want to have an active one (do some update, post pictures, add status updates regularly), also might want to get some reviews from your customers in asap. SEO companies are using SCARE TACTICS in order to buy a fake report/consultation to get you to come on board with them. There is so much misinformation out there right now it is sickening.
Google places is still here and here to stay. You can still manage it the same as ever. If you want to keep your listing active, or improve your listing here are some of the things you can do:
